Travel Updates
At Sundowners Overland the safety of our clients is paramount. When world events occur we consult a number of sources and evaluate the situation before making any operational changes to current or upcoming itineraries. These include government advisories and the World Health Organisation appraisals, the expert and in depth knowledge of our local partners who are constantly monitoring condition, as well as assessments by our Tour Leaders who provide an immediate response from our destinations.
We always endeavour to provide an alternative that will not diminish the overall experience of your journey when itineraries have to change. In extreme situations we may choose to cancel departures.
We would encourage you to ensure that you have comprehensive insurance prior to travel and to do some research on the destinations that you are travelling to. Our Travel Advisors will happily provide you with more information as required.
The best way to receive up-to-date government advice on specific countries is to familiarise yourself with your nationality’s government travel advisory website:

Travel to Iran
Updated 24 February 2012
As with all regions in which we run tours, we are currently closely monitoring the security situation in Iran in conjunction with our local partners and the considerable resources of relevant government agencies. At this point in time we have received no advice that would prompt us to amend itineraries for any of our upcoming journeys which travel through Iran.
Should the need arise, we have the ability to amend itineraries at short notice and re-route through neighbouring countries if necessary. If this occurs we will communicate directly with any affected clients to make alternative arrangements.
If you have any questions whatsoever, please feel free to contact us at travel@sundownersoverland.com.
Floods in Beijing
Updated 16 July 2012
The city of Beijing was subject to a prolonged, unseasonal torrential downpour on Saturday July 14th resulting in some severe flooding. Most of the reported damage occurred in the mountainous regions surrounding the city and the extent of damage in central Beijing was minimal, causing only minor disruption to essential services.
Sundowners Overland is closely monitoring the situation in conjunction with our local representatives on the ground in Beijing. At this point in time we have received no advice that would prompt us to amend itineraries for any of our upcoming journeys which start in, finish in or travel through Beijing.
If you have any questions whatsoever, please feel free to contact us at travel@sundownersoverland.com.
